Sidewalk Counseling
What is Sidewalk Counseling?
Sidewalk counseling is exactly what it implies: trained volunteers are present on the sidewalk in front of the abortion clinic educating women about their choices. Sidewalk counselors help potential abortion facility customers find better healthcare alternatives and serve to protect the pre-born child and the woman from abortion.
Does this strategy work?
Numerous former abortionists call sidewalk counseling the most effective method for saving lives and ending abortion. Locally, counselors have witnessed dozens of women leaving the abortion clinic and choosing life due to the efforts of the sidewalk counselors and the presence of the prayer volunteers.
How do I know if this is for me?
The first feeling you will most likely have when considering becoming a Sidewalk Counselor is fear. That is normal because becoming a sidewalk counselor means you are going beyond yourself to help women and men in crisis. Like most new things, you learn to do it and it becomes second nature, but with sidewalk counseling the importance and impact are lifesaving!
If you're reading this page it's probably because something inside you is pulling you toward helping women and men facing an abortion crisis. Don't worry that you don't have all the answers or you might not know exactly what to say or do. Answering the call is the first step. Just take it one step at a time.

Sidewalk Counselor Training Our sidewalk training is a half-day intensive training class that will provide an excellent introduction to pro-life action with GCRTL. The class includes an overview of apologetics (providing a defense of life), discussion on the laws and regulations related to both abortion and pro-life activity, local resources for pregnant or post-abortive women (and men), and more. All of our sidewalk counselors are required to take this class, although prayer partners, respect life leaders, and students who are interested in a basic pro-life apologetics are also encouraged to participate. Join us for training one of these times:
