"To us murder is once for all forbidden; so even the child in the womb, while yet the mother's blood is still being drawn on to form the human being, it is not lawful for us to destroy" Tertullian, 200 A.D.
That's the quote on the back of the t--shirt he wore in the walk. More than 3,700 peple were there this morning. Of course, not all 3,700+ people read the back of his t-shirt, but certainly the people walking behind him did!
Wearing t-shirts or clothing that carries a Pro-Life message is a simple way to make visible your position on life-related issues. They are also great conversation-starters. I was recently in a local restaurant waiting to pick up my carry-out order, and one of the customers commented on my t-shirt. It had a heart with a picture of a pre-born child in it, and the shirt read "I love little people. To each the right to life." What followed was a short conversation about the "little people" that I love so much. We talked about the pre-born and their personhood. I quickly shared with her why I am Pro-Life and why I know that pre-born children should be given a right to their life. It was great way to spend the five minutes waiting for for our food, and a conversation that wouldn't have happend if I'd been wearing a shirt proclaiming my love for my favorite sports team or advertising the designer or store that produced my t-shirt.
A great use for a 50/50 Cotton/Poly blend, don't you think?
