Pray With Us
Prayer is the foundation of many of our most effective programs at GCRTL. Prayer Partner GCRTL has an incredibly effective sidewalk counseling program, with the goal of having a trained sidewalk counselor at the two Columbus area clinics each day that they are open. We are most effective when our team has support from a group of people who are there to support the sidewalk counselor in prayer. Prayer partners are especially needed Tuesdays through Saturdays in the morning and early afternoons. Sidewalk Counseling Receive training to learn how to help abortion minded women and men turn away from the abortion facility and get help loving support and real answers from a nearby pregnancy resource center. Adopt-A-Day and 365 Days ProLife 40 Days for Life has been an incredibly effective program. Hundreds of churches and groups and thousands of individuals have joined us since 2007. The 365 Days ProLife recognizes that many churches, bible studies, rosary groups, and youth groups want to commit to a weekly, monthly, or quarterly day to pray together outside the clinics. Spiritual Adoption Have you ever considered spiritually adopting an unborn child who is vulnerable to abortion. How about one of our prolife volunteers who are on the front line? Through Spiritual Adoption, you can choose to pray for an unborn child every day for 9 months or you can pray for our front-line volunteers and staff in the prolife movement. Financial Support or In Kind Gifts Our work is 100% supported by donations from individuals, businesses, and charitable foundations. We getting resources into the hands of thousands of abortion vulnerable women and their support people (friends, partners, or family), post-abortive men and women, and churches and schools through the community. If you would like to financially support this work, visit our donation page. Project Mass Intention One of our volunteers is spearheading a project that will have a Mass said for prolife intentions at every Catholic Church in the eight-county region represented by Greater Columbus Right to Life. If you would like to participate in the Mass Intention project, send or make a donation of at lease $10, indicating that the donation is for the project. Proceeds will be used first to have the Masses said and secondarily to support our work in Respect Life and Pro-life small groups in churches. Not Catholic? Not a problem - you and your church can still participate, and you can direct the designation toward the church of your choice (assuming they will work with us). What is a Mass Intention? If you have never heard of a mass intention, here is a simple explanation: In Catholic and some other liturgical churches (and possibly others we are not aware of), each Mass is said with a particular intention, often a person or group of people. That person or those people are mentioned specifically in the prayers of that service. Generally there is also a small financial stipend that goes to the pastor or priest who says the Mass - usually about $10. It is fairly similar to providing a tip or honorarium to a minister who might perform a wedding or funeral. The Mass Intention project's goal is to definitively have at least one service specially dedicated to pro-life prayer at every church that affirms the dignity of human life in our geographical region. If this does not sound like your church's practice, but you would like to participate in the project, alternate ideas include working with the pastor to give a prolife-sermon or otherwise including special prayers for the unborn at the church. We would love for as many churches as possible to participate, so feel free to reach out with ideas! |
