Sidewalk Counselor Training
Saturday, March 17, 2012, 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Greater Columbus Right to Life welcomes Lauren Muzyka to Columbus on March 17 to share her extensive experience as a Sidewalk Counselor in a half-day Sidewalk Counselor Training Seminar.  Lauren has been a trained sidewalk counselor for 11 years, studying both the Karen Black and Msgr. Reilly methods. She has worked as a full-time, staff sidewalk counselor with the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas.  Lauren now serves as the Campaign Strategist on the 40 Days for Life Naitonal Team

This training session is for newcomers and experienced counselors alike and will kick of GCRTL's initiative to increase the number of counselors at each of Franklin County's four abortion centers.
In 2010, 3,448 children were aborted in one of Franklin County's four abortion centers.  But what if someone has been outside the abortion centers where these children died, offering their mothers help - and hope?  And what if we had enough trained sidewalk counselors in central Ohio that we had been able to help these women BEFORE the day of their scheduled abortions?
“While there are some people in the Columbus area who sidewalk counsel at local abortion centers, we simply don’t have enough people to meet the need.  We need more people to join us on the sidewalks to help mothers of the pre-born to choose life for their children.” – Mark Wolf, GCRTL member and volunteer sidewalk counselor.
If you've ever wondered if you could be a sidewalk counselor this workshop will help you discern if this is a place where you can serve in the pro-live movement and provide you with the skills and tools you need to save pre-born children from death and their parents from years of guilt and trauma.

"It doesn't take a degree.  It doesn't take a brilliant person.  All it takes is somebody who is committed to do it.  You can do it.  If God wants you to do it, you can do it."  Cathy Meidling - Sidewalk Counselor from Chicago, IL.
